The Station
Radio 2WG commenced official broadcasts from their Oura Rd Transmitter site on the frequency of 1152 KHz with the power of 2000 Watts on June 29th 1932, operating from 6.00am till 11.00pm, 17 hours per day.
The station was established by a husband and wife team, the late Eric and Nan Roberts. Both formerly school teachers in Narrandera, they gave up all they had to establish the station, residing in and broadcasting from studios at 16 Fitzmaurice street Wagga.
In 1952 the transmitter was moved to the present site, into a new building designed specifically to house two transmitters and associated equipment including standby power. At this time a new 350ft centre loaded guyed mast was installed, with an associated arial feeder.
